ATCHISON, Kan., October 4, 2016—MGP’s Till American Wheat Vodka continues to achieve prominent recognition for outstanding quality and taste from experts across the distilled spirits industry.
Within the first seven months following its release, Till Vodka has already received five prestigious awards, the most recent being a silver medal at last month’s Sommelier Challenge™ International Wine and Spirits Competition in San Diego. Just prior to that, in August, Till Vodka was awarded silver medals at the San Diego Spirits Festival and the 2016 New York World Wine and Spirits Competition.
Till Vodka also received a silver medal this past March at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, which, like the New York event, is considered to be one of the most respected and influential spirits competitions of its type on an international scale. That honor occurred in conjunction with Till Vodka’s market introduction. In May, Till Vodka earned Beverage World magazine’s BevStar Gold Award in the spirits category.
"Made using the finest quality Kansas wheat, grown by hardworking Kansas farmers, Till American Wheat Vodka represents the passion, hard work and honest values of the heartland from which it comes,” said Shanae Randolph, brand director for beverage brands. “Distilled by the proud men and women of Atchison, Kansas, the result is a uniquely smooth premium vodka.”
Randolph added, “We are highly excited about the awards that Till Vodka has already received, as they speak volumes about the expertise and dedication that go into making it. This level of recognition is not only significant, but very meaningful in terms of how rapidly Till Vodka is earning distinction for its remarkable qualities.”
At the Sommelier Challenge, over 1,100 entries consisting of wines and spirits from around the globe were evaluated.
The annual San Diego Spirits Festival likewise included a significant number of entries from the U.S. and internationally. All spirits were judged on their individual merits and attributes in categories ranging from vodka and gin to whiskey, rum, agave spirits, liqueurs and packaged cocktails.
Considered to be among the most reliable and universal indicators of spirits excellence, medals from both the New York and San Francisco competitions are recognized globally as affirmation of exceptional products and high quality. Nearly 2,000 products from around the world are entered for judging by spirits industry experts in each of these competitions.
Beverage World’s BevStar Awards recognize innovation in a number of beverage segments. Judging criteria used by the publication’s editorial team include product taste, ingredients, packaging, market positioning and uniqueness.
