ATCHISON, Kan., August 26, 2014—Sean McHenry has been appointed technical service director for MGP’s ingredient solutions business segment. He brings extensive food and beverage industry experience to the role and most recently served as technical sales and key account manager at CP Kelco U.S., Inc. in Atlanta since 2006.
At MGP, McHenry’s primary focus is to provide technical support for the company’s protein and starch commercialization initiatives. This includes interacting with customers’ technical personnel and other product development decision-makers, collaborating with sales and R&D staff in executing go-to-market tactics, managing the technical aspects of customer projects, and utilizing internal and external resources to develop concepts demonstrating unique and innovative ingredient technologies.

Prior to his employment with CP Kelco, where he performed an integral role in the launch of several unique food- and beverage-related products, McHenry spent two years as a regional sales representative for Chicago Sweeteners, Inc. From 1999 to 2004, he served as a food scientist for National Starch and Chemical Company, now a part of Ingredion, which is headquartered in Westchester, Ill.
McHenry received a bachelor of science degree in food science from Pennsylvania State University in University Park. He additionally has completed the Product Manager Imperatives Executive Program offered by the University of Wisconsin, along with other business and industry-related course work. He is a member of the International Society of Beverage Technologists and an experienced presenter on ingredient technology topics.
